iPhone 4 verizon : For almost four years, we’ve heard the rumors: iPhone will join Verizon Wireless’ network. For almost 4 years, Verizon Wireless users, Apple fan boys, and AT&T haters have been disappointed — because the rumors were not true.
Finally, on 1/11/11 at 11:11am, the rumor became fact, as Verizon Wireless announced in New York City that the iPhone 4 would be available on its network as of mid-February.
I even told my wife and daughters a few days before the announcement that I thought Verizon Wireless would be announcing the iPhone the following Tuesday. For one, AT&T started more aggressively announcing non-Apple phones, among them Morotola, htc, LG and Samsung models using Microsoft’s Windows Phone or Google’s Android, as well as new Palm and BlackBerry models.
Bingo! It uses a different technology (CDMA) so it can run on the Verizon Wireless network. CDMA will not allow you to talk and send/receive data at the same time. Verizon’s 3G network is much larger and has more capacity than its fledgling 4G LTE network. Expect 4G in future Verizon models.
Why didn’t Steve Jobs show up at the announcement?
Steve Jobs displays his magic in public for big product announcements that Apple claims will revolutionize the way you live. This was not a product announcement as much as it was an announcement of a business deal.

att is totally screwed. all we have is the iphone and hardly any android phones. yes att did announce like 4 android phones but 4 new phones compared to all the droids and everything isnt going to make up for it. i dont have a problem with atts coverage or whatever but the people who live in high traffic areas will switch to verizon for the iphone. but yea long story short, att is screwed because we dont have a backup plan -EricAlveal18
